I have shared this with so many people over the years. Another good one is the little book, “Lessons from Cats for Surviving Fascism,” by Stewart “Brittlestar” Reynolds.

The warning sign isn’t “the past returning,” it’s the present simplifying itself—until nuance looks like weakness. Where do you see that simplification happening first: rhetoric, media habits, or policy?

Amazing insights.

I would like to see a similar analysis of left wing totalitarianism, starting with the impulse to subordinate all human actions and expressions to ideology. Slogans on NFL players helmets and requisite land acknowledgements are reminders of just recent rule by self righteous left wing totalitarians.

This is a scary time to be a person who wants to live in freedom and intellectual complexity. Fascists once right, totalitarians to the left.

I would like to read about how the intellectuals have indeed attacked tradition for the sake of destroying anything that
